Head pastor of the Glorious Word Power Ministry, Reverend Owusu Bempah has apologized to journalists who were assaulted at his church premises.
The popular Ghanaian preacher was arrested alongside three others for assaulting police officers.
Making his first appearance before an Accra Circuit Court on Monday, the popular pastor was charged with offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace and threat of death.[ads2]
The three others are Michael Boateng, Frederick Ohene, and Nathaniel Agyekum.
The four were arrested for the “creation and circulation of multiple videos containing threats, and the brandishing of a weapon and the assault of some police personnel”.
According to a statement issued by the police on Sunday, September 12, 2021, and signed by its acting Director of Public Affairs, ACOP Kwesi Ofori, Reverend Owusu Bempah and the three other suspects were arrested “after critically analyzing the said videos and based on intelligence gathered”.[ads3]
Reverend Owusu Bempah has remanded alongside the three other suspects into police custody for a period of one week but have been finally granted bail.
They were granted Gh¢200,000.00 bail with two sureties. After granted bail, Reverend Owusu Bempah, through its church, has apologized for attacking journalists at the church premises.
