Ghanaian football lovers particularly admirers of the local game will be missing twenty top-notch players that shone in the country’s top-flight league season.
As one of the countries known to export football talents to the global market, the Ghana Premier league have lost over twenty players since last year despite given spectators excitements with their intelligent and skillful display on the field.
With the 2021/22 Ghana Premier league season commencing on October 29, 2021 at the various centers, supporters would be denied the chance of watching some amazing players who were exceptional last season and a delight to watch.[ads2]
Last season’s Ghana Premier league topscorer, Diawisie Taylor who was the leading marksman for Ayinase-based Karela United will not be seen next season after securing a deal with newly Promoted Egyptian Premier league outfit Future FC.
Augustine Boakye, arguably the best talent in the league last season has also joined Austrian side Wolfsberger after an outstanding form for WAFA SC.
Aside the two aforementioned players, other top-notch talents who were giving hopes to the Ghana Premier league last season have also left for greener pastures abroad. Notable among them are Percious Boah (Dreams FC), Kwame Peprah (King Faisal), Moro Salifu (Bechem United), Benjamin Bernard Boateng (Elmina Sharks), Isaac Opoku Agyemang (AshantiGold sc), Michael Agbekpornu (Dreams FC) and host of others.[ads3]
Whilst majority of players were bought out of contract, others went as free agents after either serving their term of contract or having their contracts terminated after unsatisfactory performance.
Some went during the commencement of the 2020/21 league season while others went midday with the resting leaving the country after the end of the season where Hearts of Oak were crowned champions.
And with the upcoming league season yet to commence, there is a possibility that new players could leave the shores of the country before the 2021/22 season kick start.
In all, clubs like Dreams FC, WAFA SC, Asante Kotoko and Liberty Professionals did more of the exportation with Ebusua Dwarfs, Karela United, King Faisal, Bechem United doing the least.
