Former Asante Kotoko defender, Abeiku Ainooson has spoken about the possibility of making a return to the Ghana Premier league.
The experienced central defender last played in the Ghana Premier for AshantiGold Sporting Club in 2017 before joining Kuwaiti top-flight side Al-Fahaheel from 2018-2019.
Ainooson is currently with division one league outfit Sekondi Hasaacas and was spectacular in the heart of defence despite the team’s failure to secure a ticket to the Ghana Premier league last season.[ads4]
Speaking to Kyfilla.com in an exclusive interview, Abeiku Ainooson stated that any Ghana Premier league club with an appreciable offer is welcome since he is ready to make a return to the Ghana top-flight football.
“I’m willing to play for any premier league club next season. I have played for Kotoko, AshantiGold and I was consistent for Hasaacas last season so I can play actively for any top-flight club”, Ainooson told Kyfilla.com in an exclusive interview.[ads2]
He continued that, “Awako [Gladson] was spectacular last season for Great Olympics, the likes of Yahaya Mohammed are still playing actively and he is very good, he has all the experience and has been phenomenal for Aduana [Stars], so it is not about age, like I said I played extraordinary for Hasaacas and I was consistent, so I can play in the Ghana Premier league. ”
Abeiku Ainooson began his professional senior club career with New Edubiase United debuting in the 2012–2013 Ghana Premier League season and on 1 July 2013, prior to the beginning of the 2013–2014 Ghana Premier League season Ainooson signed for Asante Kotoko.[ads1]
He was invited by coach Maxwell Konadu to be a part of the Ghana squad for the 2013 WAFU Nations Cup, and helped the Ghana national football team to a first place finish after Ghana beat Senegal by three goals to one.
He was included in Ghana national team 23-man squad that won silver at the 2014 African Nations Championship.
Ainooson was an integral member of the Asante Kotoko squad that won the 2013/14 Ghana Premier league and Ghana FA Cup titles.
He scored six goals for Sekondi Hasaacas in the zone II of the division one league last season.
