Skyy FC have been crowned champions of the maiden edition of the division one league super cup on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
The Daboase-based club defeated Tema Youth Football Club in the final at the Madina Astro Turf today to emerge winners of the competition.[ads2]
It was the energetic Ebenezer Mamatha who opened the deadlock for Skyy FC in the 15th minute before Tema Youth had the parity kind courtesy a header from Emmanuel Owusu.
After 120 minutes of end-to-end action, both teams failed to score hence had to be separated via penalty shootouts.[ads3]
Skyy FC managed to win the shootouts 7:6 against Tema Youth to win the maiden edition of the competition.[ads4]
Meanwhile, newly promoted Ghana Premier League outfit Accra Lions earlier in the day defeated FC Samartex to clinch the third place spot.
The competition was to serve as preseason tournament for the participating clubs ahead of the upcoming league season which commence on October 29, 2021.[ads5]
