Goldstar Air, a wholly owned Ghanaian airline, presented Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the organizers of Youth in Tourism (YOTOFEST) at the Accra Art Centre on November 8, 2021, as part of its
corporate social responsibility in preparation for the launch and festival of the Youth in Tourism.
Tourism Society of Ghana (TOSOGHA) is launching the Youth in Tourism festival as an endeavor to encourage youth,particularly
students of Creative Arts, to contribute more to the country’s tourism growth.
The event will be held in collaboration with the University of Education in Winneba, Central Region.
As part of the 2022 Youth in Tourism (YOTOFEST) celebration festivities which is in its third year, the festival, on the other hand, is set to take place for the first time in the Central region in June 2022 at the University of Education, Winneba.[ads2]
Mr. Dennis Kwabeng, the airline’s Head of Cabin Services, presented the
items on behalf of Mr. Eric Bannerman, the Executive Chairman of Goldstar Air, and was received by Mr. Joseph Amarh Amartey, Executive Director at TOSOGHA (Tourism Society of Ghana).
Mr. Dennis Kwabeng said that the presentation was designed to enhance TOSOGHA’s efforts to ensure that no lives are lost during and after the Festival due to the raging COVID-19 pandemic.[ads1]
As a country, we have gained renown as a result of the government’s severe steps to stem the tide, and as a corporation that shares the president’s determination to safeguard every Ghanaian, we have decided to support the central government’s efforts in this area.
Mr. Joseph Amartey expressed his appreciation to Goldstar Air for providing such a generous contribution at such a critical time and alsos said the festival’s summit aims to improve youth empowerment and participation in tourism by implementing Sustainable Development Goal which calls for the establishment of tourist business incubators and partnerships for young people.
Participation in international youth tourism associations, international non-governmental youth organizations, and the implementation of a regular student exchange program, all with the goal of bringing young people from different backgrounds together and encouraging intercultural learning, among other things.[ads1]
The Executive Director of Tourism Society of Ghana (TOSOGHA) Mr Joseph Amartey has been appointed as the African Youth President for African chamber of Trade and Commerce (ACTC). His appointment as a youth leader, required him to pursue the African Union agenda 2063, which is aimed at providing inclusive social and sustainable economic development of Africa through the Pan-Africanism drive for unity.
“The objective of the 2022 YOTOFEST is to implement a comprehensive
analysis of the problems and prospects in order to find ways to develop
youth tourism in Ghana and create a new model for work in this area, as
well as active participation in the sustainable development of youth tourism in Ghana,” he added.
“The festival will be the regional flagship of its type, allowing young participants to be a part of a one-of-a-kind event aimed at promoting youth participation in the tourist sector and empowering younger
generations to drive more sustainable domestic tourism promotions.”
Mr. Eric Bannerman, the airline’s CEO stated that “the goal of Goldstar Air’s business operations is to boost the underserved Ghanaian tourism sector and as a Ghanaian-registered company, we plan to use Ghana’s
prominence as the “Gateway to West Africa” to expand the West African market as well by introducing schedule flights from all ECOWAS
(Economic Community of West Africa States) countries through Accra(Our Main Hub) to the rest of the world and our marketing approach will be based on the features of low-cost carrier package and tour operations,
which have shown to be effective in Ghana, North America, and Europe.”
“In every aspect, we are devoted to Ghana’s growth. The airline is for Ghanaians, so the people of this country will gain the most, and that is just what we are displaying now; there will be much more to give Ghanaian communities when we begin operations.
” He added Our in-flight meals are designed keeping in mind the Covid-19 protocols
and varied guests we cater for. Goldstar Air is one such example that showcases how important we think of our young guests and our aim is to provide a complete flying comfort.
By offering the best service possible, the airline will provide an outstanding customer experience while also contributing to the growth of the Ghanaian economy by making international travel affordable and

Make foreign travel more inexpensive and accessible for Ghanaians, as well as provide career opportunities and aviation-related
training to Ghanaians, especially the youth.
The presentation was witnessed by Mr Kashif Martino (Project manager), Ms Hannah Asiedu (HR Manger) and other Tourism Society of Ghana officials.
Mr Eric Bannrtman (Executive Chairman). Mr. Charles Nettey (Airport Manager), Mr. Edmund Lamptey (Executive Assistant), Ms. Excel Norman (Cabin Crew), and Mr John Ashong-Mettle (Cargo Service Manger) were
among the Goldstar Air Team officials who attended the event.
