Nana Kwesi Coomson and 32 others have left to the United States of America (USA) on the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) for a 6-week leadership training.
Mr. Coomson who is also the Chief Executive of Prestige Knight, a multimedia enterprise and operators of online news portal www.233times.com is on the Business and Entrepreneurship track and he is having his training at the Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia.
YALI is the Mandela Washington Fellowship’s flagship prorgam which takes young African leaders to the United States for 6 weeks of leadership training and mentoring in USA at twenty Universities and Colleges in three areas: business and entrepreneurship, civic engagement and public administration. It was launched in 2010 by US president Barack Obama to invest in the next generation of African leaders and nurture them as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance and enhance peace and security across Africa.

Anthony Nana Kwesi Coomson is a Public and Media Relations Professional with 5 years’ experience in media and communications. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Prestige Knight Enterprise, operators of www.233times.com, the Western Region’s leading online news portal, a Reporter for The Chronicle newspaper and CSR Resource Person for Skyy Media Group.
Again, he is the Public and Media Relations Officer for the annual Western Music Awards, Westside Legacy (a union for youth talents in the Western Region) and a Communications Consultant for a number of not-for-profit organizations in Ghana.
He is passionate about media work because of the media’s power to transform society; and the opportunity it presents to tell the story of Ghana to the world via the World Wide Web and other channels as well as create jobs for other people across Ghana.
Nana Kwesi has a masters in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Energy from the Robert Gordon University in United Kingdom where he pursued that on the highly competitive Tullow Group Scholarship Scheme in 2015, a first degree in Political Science from the University of Ghana and an alumnus of Adisadel College.
With strong passion for youth in entrepreneurship, he is a regular Speaker on entrepreneurship and creating business opportunities for Ghana Think Foundation’s ‘Bar Camp,’ OBPR’s ‘Entrepreneurship Summit’ and ‘Beginning the year right Summit.’
His annual ‘Yes We Can’ pep-talk with Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Candidates in Sekondi-Takoradi which is aimed at taking out exams fright from the Candidates and help them to better prepare for the first external exams has impressive results.
On his return to Ghana, Nana Kwesi has planned to integrate skills and lessons learnt into his business to scale up the business to create more business opportunities for youth in media and communications. He as well intends to set up a union of young entrepreneurs in order to have regular interactions with astute entrepreneurs across the world.
Above all, he is a serial philanthropist.
