As part of the airline’s corporate social responsibility, Ghana’s award-winning and wholly-owned airline, Goldstar Air, donated boxes of personal protective equipment (PPEs) to The Birthright Chapel International in Tamale to announce its presence to make Tamale its second hub.
Mr. Mohammed Muniru Cosmos, Chief Executive Officer of Ndewura Tours presented the items on behalf of the Executive Chairman/CEO of the airline, Mr. Eric Bannerman, and were received by Evangelist Mrs. Tomitope on behalf of the church, who expressed his gratitude to Goldstar Air for their generous gesture.[ads4]
Evangelist Mrs. Tomitope acknowledged that the PPEs will benefit not just the church, but also all of the missionary outreach locations that the church will be visiting as part of its school and village outreach ministry.
School and village outreach is one of their initiatives, in which gospel teachers visit schools and villages to teach people and also assist villages in the construction of toilets for them, provides clothing for the children, which they refer to as “Operation Cloth the Children,” or OCC, as well as feeding many children through their village outreaches, which Goldstar Air has the pledge to support the initiatives.
The airline recently donated packages of personal protective equipment to the Shea Tree Arena also in northern Ghana and was presented on behalf of the management of Goldstar Air by Mr. . Mohammed Muniru Cosmos, Chief Executive Officer of Ndewura Travel and Tour. The Shea Tree Arena is a local traditional wrestling game launched in northern Ghana to promote event and tourism attractions, which a couple of wrestling tournaments within the communities has been organized.
Goldstar Air intends to use Tamale Airport (TML) as its second hub and has secured the Architectural Design and Building Order for the construction of our Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Organization (MRO) and is now awaiting the allocation of the piece of land by the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) to build a 250 x 250 x 75 Twin Hangar at the airport which can accommodate two (2) largest passenger aircraft ever developed A380 (maximum certified capacity for 853 passengers) or many narrow and smaller aircraft at the same time as we look forward to regaining Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Category I (CAT I) status for Ghana.
The Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Organization (MRO) Facility will be named after the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, as the airline sees it as a way to expand job opportunities for the people of Northern Ghana and to open up business opportunities in the Northern sector of the country.[ads2]
The airline also intends to construct a cargo village and a city project called “Goldstar City,” which will encapsulate a training school for engineers, pilots, cabin crew, and other airline staff. A career in aviation, particularly as a pilot, is a dream for many people, so the Flight School, which we are looking forward to being approved by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the European Union Aviation Safety (EASA), will help some Ghanaians realize their dreams.
Tamale’s Cargo Village will offer a variety of freighting, warehousing, and customs clearance services – all from a centralized location – and it can also accommodate freight arriving from various modes of transportation such as road, rail, and air, which is unloaded, collected, prepared, and reloaded for onward transportation. By providing high-quality services to its partners, the village aspires to become one of Ghana’s most important economic engines in the cargo and logistics industries. The cargo village will handle a large portion of the region’s air carrier market and hopes to attract more strategic investors to achieve its planned growth.
Goldstar Air will also organize charter flights for Ghanaians to and from Tamale to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj pilgrimage, as well as other Muslims across Africa, and for this project, the airline will train more Ghanaian pilots and cabin crew who will be on call and work on a contract basis whenever a charter service is available or as and when our fleet expands.
The airline’s strategy is to use the country’s rich tourism and cultural resources to also competitively position the northern enclave as a preferred tourist destination in the country and the West African sub-region and to attract foreign investors, local and international tourists, and visitors to the area. The country’s northern enclave, which includes the Northern, North East, Savannah, Upper East, and Upper West Regions, are rich in diverse rich tourism attractions, a melting pot of highly diversified cultures, inventive arts, and warmth, which must be harnessed and packaged for enhanced marketing and promotion to develop a thriving tourism industry that will create jobs, reduce poverty, and increase per capita income in the area.
With the capacity building of Ghanaians and all projects in place, Goldstar Air will be achieving its projected fleet of more than one hundred (100) modern aircraft to a network of more than ninety (90) key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, the Caribbean, and North America as well as aiming to be a high-ranking preferred choice and to be recognized as one of Africa’s top one hundred (100) companies.
