The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Boamah Otokunor has disclosed keen interest to contest for the party’s overall General Secretary position in the next elections.
The astute politician indicated that he will only contest for the top position should Johnson Aseidu Nketiah who is the current General Secretary of the party decide not to contest for the position again.
Mr Otokunor said his sudden interest to contest for the position is as a result of call from some members of the party who believe he is the right person for the position should 65-year old Johnson Aseidu Nketiah decide not to contest again.
“Though I have high interest in the secretary position, I will only contest if, only if, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia our General Secretary decides to stay aside, but I have clear indication that Mr Asiedu Nketia may not go for the secretary position so all things being equal I will contest for the position”, Mr Otokunor said on Akoma FM.
“Nothing can obstruct our victory when the time comes for the national executive contest because the grassroots have endorsed me and they themselves have urged me to proceed to the substantive General Secretary position when Mr Asiedu Nketia decides to disembark on that lane”, he added…
