Five persons have been reported dead in a fatal accident at the Akim-Birimso road on the Accra-Kumasi highway in the Eastern Region.
Reports say thirteen people were onboard a Toyota minibus traveling, upon reaching the aforementioned road, the bus veered off and crashed into the rear portion of a Daf low bed on a section of the road.
The police says, the driver of the Toyota Minibus with registration number GT 3799- 16 now deceased, lost control of the bus and crashed into the articulated truck with registration number AK 1145 – 21.
Five persons perished instantly with seven others who were onboard the bus sustaining injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Hawa Memorial Hospital in Osiem.
Meanwhile the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Kibi Government Hospital for autopsy, preservation, and identification.
