Former Member of Parliament for Asokwa Constituency, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has said it will be difficult for the NPP to break the eight year term if Chairman Wontumi is reelected as the party’s leader in the Ashanti Region.
To the highly-respected member of the party, the flamboyant lifestyle of Chairman Wontumi gives the NPP administration a bad impression which will make it very difficult for the party to win the 2024 general elections.
“He [Wontumi] is unnecessarily living flamboyant lifestyle which gives bad impression about the government and thus making the party unpopular. So, it will be very difficult for the NPP to break the eight if chairman Wontumi is reelected”, Kofi Jumah said on Akoma FM in an interview.
He described Chairman Wontumi’s four-year term as the leader of the party in the Ashanti Region as failure despite many rooting for him in the party’s regional elections scheduled for Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
“I can tell you that all those seeking reelection must be voted out with the exception of the regional Organiser in the person of Francis Adomako and the Women’s Organizer. Apart from these two people, all of the regional executives have failed the party including Wontumi.”
The CEO of GIHOC Distilleries continued that, “among all the five aspirants for the apex position, that’s the chairman race, Wontumi has the less political experience so I will rate him just one and I will rate his close contender Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, with three over three because he has the academic qualifications to critically analyze data and make informed decisions and projections.”
