Astute media personality, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour has been elected the new president of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
Mr. Kwabena Dwumfour who is the head of corporate affairs at Tobinco Group of Companies defeated competition from Ghanaian Times Editor and former General Secretary of the association, Dave Agbenu and communications expert Gayheart Mensah to clinch the top seat.
He pulled 233 votes as against Agbenu’s 142 and Gayheart Mensah’s 181 with over 800 members of the association casting their votes in a keenly contested elections on Friday, June 24, 2022.
The Vice Presidential seat went to Linda Asante Agyei while Audrey Dekalu went unopposed for the treasurer position.
Kofi Yeboah defeated Adom FM’s Akwasi Agyemang for the General Secretary position while Dominic Hlordzi of GTV won the organising Secretary position against Daily Graphics’ Mary Mensah.
The public affairs position went to Rebecca Ekpe who defeated Caesar Abigail..
