The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekondi, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, on Wednesday, 20th July, 2022 donated 100 photocell streetlights to schools in his constituency.
All the second cycle schools in Sekondi Constituency, which includes, Adiembra Senior High School, St. John’s School and Fijai Senior High School, received 20 pieces of streetlights each.
The tertiary institutions, which includes, Sekondi Nursing and Midwifery Training College and Holy Child Training College, also received 20 streetlights each, bringing the total to 100.
A delegation led by the Sekondi Constituency Chairman, Percy Morgue Ansah, delivered the items on behalf of the MP.[ads2]
Chairman indicated that the donation of streetlights is part of the MP’s “Operation Light Up Sekondi“ agenda, which seeks to ensure that all the institutions in his constituency have light on their campuses.
Rev Father Paul Kwesi Sam, the Guidance and Counseling Coordinator for Adiembra SHS who received the items on behalf of the school, said the streetlights will go a long way to create a safe environment on campus that will allow students to study late at night and attend late night lectures.
