The Western Regional communications officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Richard Kirk-Mensah has declared his intentions to re-contest in the upcoming regional elections.[ads2]
According to him, he has been able to transformed the communication bureau of the party in the Western Region which contributed to the party’s unprecedented gains in the last general elections.
The former acting youth organiser of the NDC branch in Italy believes he is the right personality to lead the party as the communications officer for the 2024 general elections as the party seeks to return to power and claim most parliamentary seats in the region occupied by the NPP.
Mr Kirk-Mensah is expected to file for nomination at the party office today, October 14, 2022.[ads3]
He became a member of the NDC under the regime of late President Jerry John Rawlings where he started as a branch activist in early 2000samd later as a polling agent at Sekondi State Transport Polling Station.
From 2001-2003, Mr Kirk-Mensah was a member of the NDC’s reorganization team in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis and became the TEIN President at the Takoradi Technical University from 2003-2004.
He became a member of the Western Region youth working committee of the NDC from 2004 to 2008 and was voted the acting Italy youth organiser of the party in 2008 where he served for six years before vacating the position.
And since 2003, the affable Kirk-Mensah has been a member of the regional communication team of the NDC where he passed through the rank and file to become the deputy Communication officer from 2014 to 2018.[ads4]
In 2018 when the NDC were preparing for the 2020 elections, Richard Kirk-Mensah was elected the Western Regional communication officer of the party and seeking for reelection.
He told Kyfilla.com that his vision for the party as the regional Communication officer is to sustain the momentum of the gains in the last general elections and improve on it in the 2024 polls.
He also want to train individuals to specialize in area of specifics of communication as well as being in more young and energetic youth especially women on board and also build a strong media team to help in grabbing more of the parliamentary seats in the region and win the presidential polls in 2024.
He emphasised on building an effective grassroots Communication where dissemination of message will be much easier as well as find modalities the defend the party when voted to power in 2024.
Mr Kirk-Mensah holds a master of science in oil and gas management from the University of Cape Coast and master of science in disaster management from same University.
He also holds a certificate in Italian language proficiency, an HND in Electrical Engineering from the Takoradi Technical University and currently pursuing a PhD program abroad…[ads5]
