Nana Toku has been maintained as the chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western region after the regional elections on Saturday, November 12, 2022.[ads2]
The astute politician has retained his seat for a second term after polling 415 votes to defeat his competitor Gibril Alhassan Lamini who had just 91 votes.
In all 42 contestant contested for 12 different positions at the just ended elections held at Agona Nkwanta in the Western region.
The incumbent vice chairman Daniel K Eshun had 119 votes but was not enough as he lost his seat to Charlotte Otuwa Odum who surprisingly accumulated 364 of the total votes in the elections.
Johnson Nelson retained the secretary position with an overwhelming 268 votes whiles Raphael K Setorwofia secured the deputy secretary position.
Charles Kojo Fordjour, a former deputy secretary won the regional organiser position with 232 votes as against his close competitor Daniel Dadzie a former youth organiser of the party who polled 209 votes with George Bamfo winning the deputy organiser seat.
The party’s treasurer, Daniel Darlington Atitsa went unopposed with Marian Plange-Kwoffie retaining her seat as the deputy treasurer.

Both the regional communication director, Richard Kirk Mensah and his deputy, Ebenezer Essien went unopposed while Gladys Egyin retained her seat as the women’s organiser with Noelle Adjoa Arthur winning the deputy women’s organiser position by beating the incumbents Marian Raji and Charlotte Cobbinah.[ads3]
Mustapha Iddrisu, a former youth organiser was elected the overall youth organiser with 37 votes while Abdul Hakeem Mahama clinched the deputy youth organiser seat.
Hafizu Alasco maintained his position as the leader of the Zongo Caucus with 285 votes, defeating his competitor Halidu Mohammed.
