The NDC will elect new executives on December 17 ahead of the 2024 general elections as the party is determined to return to power.
The chairmanship position has raised a humongous debate among members of the party with some rooting for the incumbent Samuel Ofosu Ampofo while the others are on the side of Johnson Asiedu Nketiah who has been the General Secretary of the party for many years.[ads3]
In the midst of the gargantuan debate, Victor Smith who is a highly-respected member of the NDC has endorsed Ofosu Ampofo, indicating that the former legislator has garnered enough experience to return the party to power.

He believes since Asiedu Nketiah failed to file for the General Secretary position, he should withdraw from the chairmanship race and go in for the position as campaign manager for the 2024 elections.[ads4]
“In my view, I want Ofosu Ampofo to be retained, and because Asiedu Nketiah moved away from his seat as the General Secretary, he should be made the campaign manager. He [Asiedu Nketiah] cannot go back because he didn’t file for that one [General Secretary position], Mr Smith said while speaking on Onua TV’s Maakye Morning Show with Captain Smart.
“With all the confidence he [Asiedu Nketiah] claims he has had, I think he should be made to manage the party’s campaign in 2024. I prefer Ofosu Ampofo as the chairman”, he added[ads5]
