The enterprising tactician has relinquished his position after eight matches in the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier league season.
The Black Galaxies assistant coach has resigned as Karela United gaffer after a year of joining the club from FC Samartex.[ads3]
Confirming the news to Kyfilla.com, the former Nzema Kotoko coach said, “it’s true I have resigned from the team [Karela United] but I don’t want to talk about why I have taken that decision, I have resigned.”
Even though Kobby Mensah failed to disclose to us his reason for leaving Karela United, our checks indicate that the players of the club have refused to return to training after the World Cup break which has culminated to the coach’s resignation.[ads4]
It is believed some of the players at Karela United are agitated over some unpaid salaries and bonuses hence their refusal to return to training after the FIFA World Cup break.
Kobby Mensah joined Karela United in August, 2021 after the sacking of Evans Adotey as the head coach.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Karela United has been bought by astute Ghanaian lawmaker and leader of the Minority in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu and the team might be relocated from Ayinase to Tamale.[ads5]
