President Akufo-Addo has issued strong warning to deputy ministers serving in his government to desist from sabotaging and undermining sector ministers.[ads2]
According to the President, he will not hesitate to sack any deputy minister who will put up such behavior since absolute loyalty and submission from his Deputy Ministers forms the “fundamental premise for the success of your work.”
“A Deputy [Minister] who thinks that the route to his/her advancement is in their ability to subvert or undermine their Minister, will be sadly mistaken and axed out. You will not profit from that conduct in an Akufo-Addo’s presidency and on the contrary, you are likely to forfeit your office”, he said while swearing into office the new Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Lariba Abudu and her Deputy Francisca Oteng-Mensah who are all lawmakers, at a short ceremony at Jubilee House on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.[ads3]
At same ceremony, the President also sworn in two new judges of the Supreme Court. They are Justices Barbara Frances Ackah-Yensu; and Samuel Kwame Adibu Asiedu.
The President also entreated the newly-sworn Justices ‘to bear in mind that the growth of our nation demands that we have a Judiciary that commands the respect of the people by the quality of its delivery of justice, as well as by the comportment of its judges.”[ads4]
