Former Ghana U-20 striker, Ebenezer Assifuah has joined Malaysian Super League side, Kedah Darul Aman FC.[ads2]
Details of the contract remains scanty but the 29-year old striker has joined the Green and Yellow lads after leaving French 2 outfit Pau FC.
Kedah Darul Aman FC is one of the top clubs in Malaysia and currently remains the only team in the country’s football history to have won two trebles which was in 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons.
Assifuah has joined the Kedah-based club with vast experience having played for European clubs like FC Sion, Le Havre and Pau FC and expected to strengthen the team’s attacking department.[ads3]
He is regarded as one of the talented goal poachers Ghana has ever produced at the U-20 level.
The former Sekondi Eleven Wise goal poacher was an integral member of the Ghana U-20 team that played at the 2013 Africa Youth Championship. He emerged as second joint-topscorer at the tournament.
Assifuah was also a member of the Ghana Under-20 national team that took part in the 2013 FIFA U-20 tournament in Turkey.[ads4]
He finished the tournament as the leading goal scorer with 6 goals.
His magnificent performance at the U-20 level earned him his first appearance for the Black Stars as a starter in 0–0 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie with Mozambique in March 2016.
Later he was selected for 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, but remained on the bench throughout where Ghana finished at the fourth place.[ads5]
