Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong is reportedly close to be named the new Minister of Food and Agriculture.[ads2]
According to report reaching Kyfilla.com, the ace politician has emerged as the favorite to occupy the top position in the Akufo-Addo-led government.
This comes after the resignation of Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto who vacated his position to concentrate on his ambition of becoming the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections.[ads3]
Dr Afriyie Akoto became the second minister in the current government to step down from his position after Alan Kyerematen who also resigned for same reason.
Born in Suhum in the Eastern region, Bryan Acheampong hails from Nkwatia in the Kwahu East District of Ghana. He had his basic school at the Achimota Primary School and continued to the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School in Legon and graduated from the Johnson and Wales University in the USA with a bachelor’s degree and an MBA in Business Administration.[ads4]
He holds a PhD (candidate) in Information Systems at the University of Ghana. He has a Certificate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also has an HP Accredited Sales Professional from the HP University.
Mr Acheampong served in the US Air Force between 2004 and 2006. He was the Minister of State in charge of National Security after he was appointed and sworn in the Office of the Presidency.
He is a Consultant and was the CEO of INTU-Group in Accra but currently the Deputy Minister of State in charge of Interior.
