The administration of St Mary’s Girls SHS in Asante Akyem Central has raised concern about recent pregnancy reports of numerous students, which have harmed the institution’s image.[ads2]
According to a recent study, 15 students are pregnant, with four final-year students, 10 form two students, and one freshly accepted student proven pregnant.
Ms. Alice Martha Adjei, the school’s headmistress, in an interview with Kessben FM’s Asumadu Dakwah, decried the situation and advised these Students to stay home and return to school once they had delivered their kids.[ads3]
She also linked the issue to various challenges that the school had had from its inception, such as non-fence of the school, encroachment on school grounds, and so on, and asked for help in fencing the school to prevent students from utilizing the campus as a route.
