Asante Kotoko striker, Steven Mukwala has said he is still holding to his dream of winning this season’s Ghana Premier League topscorer award.
The Ugandan international scored a brace when Asante Kotoko defeated RTU 4:0 in match-day 25 of the Ghana Premier League.
Before the game, Mukwala had gone eight games without scoring.
He has now scored 10 goals and is two goals behind Berekum Chelsea’s Mezack Afriyie in the race for the top scorer award.
When asked about his aspirations for the award, Steven Mukwala said, “Sure, I am still chasing it.”
He also expressed his pride at breaking his goal drought, saying, “Basically, I feel so proud. It was really hard for me to open my account in the second round of the league. It was really nice to score in front of the amazing supporters at Baba Yara.”
Steven Mukwala is expected to continue his goal-scoring form when Asante Kotoko face King Faisal in an outstanding fixture of the Ghana Premier League encounter at Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday.
Asante Kotoko currently sit fifth on the league table with 38 points from 25 matches.
