The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended election for its 2024 presidential candidates in the Manhyia South constituency in the Ashanti Region.
This was announced by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the party at a meeting on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

As to why that decision has been taken, FEC didn’t state it in press release which was signed by its Deputy General Secretary, Barbra Serwaa Asamoah.
FEC has also suspended parliamentary primaries in 15 constituencies including Manhyia South, stating that a new date will be set for the elections in those constituencies.
Meanwhile, those who have been cleared to contest in the elections will go to the polls on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Three personalities which include former President John Dramani Mahama, former Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffour and former Kumasi Mayor Kojo Bonsu will contest for the party’s flagbearership position.
