In-form Tamale City FC striker, Sampson Eduku has said he is not keen on winning this season’s Ghana Premier league golden boots.
The deadly goal poacher is in blistering form this season for Tamale City, scoring twelve goals for the club.
Eduku netted twice when Tamale City annihilated Hearts of Oak 4:1 in Tamale on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
The brace has increased his tally to 12 goals after 28 league matches this season.
The former Karela United forward is a goal away from Wontah Hafiz Konkoni of Bechem United who is currently leading the goal-king chart.
Speaking exclusively to Kyfilla.com, Sampson Eduku who formerly played for Sekondi Eleven Wise, Karela United and Elmina Sharks, indicated that his focus is not to win the topscorer award but help Tamale City FC to escape relegation.
“My focus is not on the goal king. I want to put smiles on the faces of our supporters by helping Tamale City to escape relegation, but I will grab it when the opportunity presents itself”, Eduku told Kyfilla.com in an interview.
“We have been able to move away from the relegation zone after beating Hearts of Oak, and we will keep fighting till the last game. I know we will stay in the league”, he added..
Meanwhile, Tamale City FC currently sit 13th on the Ghana Premier league log with 35 points after 28 matches and will travel to Kumasi to face Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, April 30, 2023.
