The Public Relations Officer of Aduana Stars, Evans Oppong is optimistic the club will emerge winners of this season’s Ghana Premier League despite Accra Lions setback.
Aduana Stars were leapfrogged by Medeama SC to the summit of the league table after surprisingly losing heavily to Accra Lions in matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League last weekend.
The Dormaa-based club were shockingly beaten 3:0 by Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium to dent their league title ambition.
After losing to Accra Lions, Aduana Stars who are two-time league champions have dropped to the second position on the league log with 52 points with just a point separating them and Medeama Sporting Club.
With three games to end the league season, Evans Oppong is confident Aduana Stars will lift the league title despite tough matches ahead compared to that of Medeama.
“The league is not over untill it’s over. We [Aduana Stars] will continue to fight till the end, anything can happen in football and we are very hopeful of winning the league”, he said in an audio available to Kyfilla.com.
“Right now Medeama is leading us with only a point but we can overtake then just like what they have done after 24 weeks. We assure our teaming supporters not to lose hope because we will fight till the end”, he added.
Aduana Stars will host Dreams FC in matchday 32 of the Ghana Premier League at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
