Ghanaian afrobeatz singer, Camidoh is expected to release his new album ‘Love Is The Answer’or simply put LITA on June 2, 2023.
The ‘Sugarcane’ hit-maker has been a sensation in the Ghanaian music industry following his success in the 2024 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) where he bagged the Best International Collaboration and Afrobeatz song of the year.
LITA is expected to be a 15-track album with some amazing collaborations.
Even though details of the album remain scanty, Camidoh is expected to have artistes like Stonebwoy, Kwesi Arthur, Amaarae, M.anifest, Maggix, Eugy among others.
This will be his second album this year after January’s ALTINE EP, and it promises to be a testament to his growth and evolution as an artist.
Known in real life as Richard Camidoh Kofi Attachie, Camidoh started his musical career when he signed to Don’t Stop Records in 2018.
In that same year, Camidoh released his first single titled For My Lover which featured Darkovibes, and subsequently released The Best which featured Kelvyn Boy and Available featuring Eugy.
In 2021, Camidoh released a single which featured BET award nominee Kwesi Arthur titled Dance With You, before releasing a six–track EP titled Contingency Plan in 2020.
In March 2021 Camidoh performed at the Entertainment Achievement Awards organized by Citi TV, and his extended play, Contingency Plan (C.P.) was nominated for the Album of the Year.
After his performance, earned him admiration from IMANI chief executive officer, Franklin Cudjoe who dashed him $500.
He rose to prominence in between 2021 and 2022, when he released his single Sugarcane in December 2021. The song began to trend more after the Ghanaian TikTok video creators community used the song in their videos, serving as a way of promoting the song online.
The song was number 5 on Shazam’s top 200 most searched Afropop songs.
On April 8, 2022, Camidoh released a remix of the song featuring King Promise, Nigerian artiste Mayorkun and British rapper Darkoo. In the first week of May, barely a month after its release, the collaboration peaked at Number 1 on Nigeria’s Top 100 Music Chart on Apple Music.
The song won him the best collaboration and best afrobeatz song of the year at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
