Ghanaian midfielder, Salis Abdul Samed has extended his stay with French Ligue Un side RC Lens until June 2028 on Thursday, June 8, 2023.
Salis Abdul Samed who joined RC Lens from Clermont aided the Ligue Un side to finish second and booked a UEFA Champions League Group stage slot.
He was one of the standout performers of the season. Salis Abdul earned a L’Equip Team of the Season slot and has been rewarded with a new five year contract keeping him at Lens till June 2028.
Salis Abdul Samed was one of the standout performers for the Black Stars at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar starring in all group games for Ghana as the Black Stars exited the Group Stage.

Salis Abdul Samed began his football with Accra-based side JMG Academy and later moved to Cote D’Ivoire side Djékanou after the closed down of the Academy.
On July 24, 2019, Salis moved from Djékanou to Clermont on a two-year-loan deal from the JMG Academy.
Abdul Samed played his debut game with the Clermont side in a 2–2 (5–4 on penalties) Coupe de la Ligue loss to Lens on 27 August 2019 putting up an outstanding performance that caught the eye of the French Ligue Un side.
On 12 July 2021, Abdul Samed moved to Clermont on a permanent basis and signed a four-year contract.
On 24 June 2022, Abdul Samed signed for Lens in a transfer worth a reported €5 million. He signed a five-year contract with the club. He scored his first goal on 31 August 2022 against Lorient.
