Okwawu United Sporting Club have secured qualification to the second on the pyramid competition under the Ghana Football Association after a 3-1 win over Pelicans FC in the Eastern Region FA.
The former Ghana Premier League campaigners secured the qualification and hit the streets of Nkawkaw with celebrations on Wednesday.
Okwawu United currently lead the log with 12 points after four games, five points more than Live Now Academy, also beaten 2-1 earlier by Right To Dream Academy.
This victory puts Okwawu United beyond the reach of any other team in the six team league with a game more to spare. The 2023/2024 Division One League Zone 3 will have Okwawu United.
The Asaase Aban club were demoted to the third-tier in 2017, a year after reaching the finals of the FA Cup, where they lost the title to Bechem United.
