The pending court case that has culminated into the suspension of the Western Regional Super Middle League has been adjourned by the Sekondi High Court to next Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
It is the second time the case has been adjourned raising several concerns of its impact on the already amended football calendar.
The Ghana Football Association communicated that all leagues has to come to an end on June 18 and later pushed it a week further to give room for the regional and women’s football divisional leagues to end.
That duration has already elapsed yet the WRFA is yet to commence its flagship Super Middle League to determine the qualified team for the 2023/2024 Division One League Zone 2.

This delay has been necessitated by an interlocutory injunction placed on the Super Middle League which was already scheduled to commence on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
The Appellant, Ebenezer Kwamena Thompson who’s established as a staunch supporter of Sekondi Hasaacas FC has arraigned the Regional Association to Court for issues he’s termed as unfair in his ‘interview’ with Connect FM.

“You cannot serve protests verdicts on Monday and start middle league on Tuesday. Every club has the right to appeal and we need fairness to prevail in our leagues” – he stated.
Following the postponement of the first sitting which was expected to happen on Friday, June 23, 2023 due to a meeting scheduled for the Ghana Bar Association, Western Region to Tuesday, June 27, 2023 and subsequently being adjournment to Tuesday July 4, 2023.
