The Black Meteors of Ghana have arrived in Ghana midnight of Monday, July 3, following their unsuccessful campaign at the TotalEnergies Under-23 African Cup of Nations.
The Ghana Under 23 side failed for the second time under Coach Ibrahim Tanko to secure a slot to the quadrennial tournament, World Olympics Games since last appearing in Athens 2004.
Ghana amassed four points; a 3-2 win against Congo, a whooping 5-1 defeat to Morocco and a 1-1 draw against Guinea were not enough to push Ghana to the last four of the eight nations tournament.
The technical team is expected to submit report of the tournament to the Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council for assessment.

Ghana scored five goals in those three games and conceded a staggering eight goals in the process.
Emmanuel Yeboah was Ghana’s topscorer with three goals and Salim Adams and Ernest Nuamah scored the remaining two goals.
Ghana will have to wait for the 2028 edition to relish chances of breaking the long absence to the world Olympics games.
