Due to the delay in the preparation of facilities, Samson Deen, President of the African Paralympic Committee, is urging the postponement of its Games from September to November.
The event, which is scheduled to take place in Accra from September 3 to 12, 2023, appears to be beyond Ghana’s capacity to host
The continental championship may not begin on time since the track and field events will take place at the Legon stadium, which is still under construction.
Deen disclosed that offers had been made to postpone the start date in order to allow for the completion of the necessary renovations.
“We had a stakeholder meeting with the international federations and at the same time, the entire African membership where we have made a bit of proposals to postpone the games from September to November to try to fix the challenges before time,” he told joysports.
