Defender Robert Addo Sowah has issued an emotional message to Hearts of Oak after leaving the club.
Addo’s seven-year spell with the Phobians has ended after mutually parting ways with the Ghanaian giants on Wednesday following his contract expiration.
The 29-year-old joined Hearts of Oak in 2016 and established himself as a key cog at the club. He helped the Ghanaian giants end their trophy drought during the 2020–21 season.
“It was a dream come true to feature the Rainbow family. I am who I am because of this great club. “
“I would like to thank the Board, Current and Outgoing Technical team, Playing body, and Supporters of this amazing club for everything they have done for me. I couldn’t have come this far without them all.”
“I dedicate all the memorable moments I had at Hearts of Oak to the fans and wish the club the best of luck.”
The defender spent last season on loan at Samartex, helping the club escape relegation at the end of the 2022–23 season.
He is expected to find a new club before the 2023–24 football season.
The enterprising defender has made a total of 81 appearances in the Ghana Premier League.
