Telecommunications giant MTN Ghana is set to support the Porcupine Warriors in completing the Adako Jachie project in two years.
In 2013, Dr. K.K. Sarpong’s administration secured financial support from MTN Ghana for the project. MTN presented a cheque of GH150,000 to help complete the Club’s administration block and training field at Adarko-Jachie before committing to invest GH375,000 within the next three years.
Despite Nana Yaw Amponsah’s administration’s efforts, the project remains incomplete. Rival fans tease the Reds about their lack of facilities.
This week, reports suggested that MTN Ghana is returning next season as Asante Kotoko’s headline sponsor. If the deal is reached, the club will reportedly support Asante Kotoko financially to complete the Adako Jachie project in the next year or two.
Life Patron of the Kumasi-based club, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, last week met with former players and executives of the club’s supporters group. He has urged them to get involved to help the club’s cause ahead of the 2023–24 football season.
