Head Coach of Dutch Eredivisie powerhouse AFC Ajax Amsterdam, Maurice Steijn, calls Ghanaian player Kudus Mohammed “a jewel.”
The versatile 23-year-old Ghanaian player’s contribution to the team’s comeback victory over Heracles Almelo made the the manager shower compliments on him.
Kudus played the entire game, clocking in at 90 minutes, but it was his second-half performance that put his name on everyone’s lips.
In the 75th minute, after being found with a long pass by Benjamin Tahirovic, the attacking midfielder gave Ajax a 2-1 lead.Ajax went on to record a 4-1 win.
“I have read a lot of reports about Kudus this week but there is literally nothing right now that points to him leaving,” Steijn said after Kudus scored in season opener.
“I spoke to him this week and he is fully focused on Ajax. He is a jewel for Ajax”.he added.
The Ghanaian player’s fantastic performances has got him being linked with several teams in Europe with Brighton being front runners.His coach however insists that he stays for another season.
