Rashid Musa from Kojokrom was adjudged the champion of the maiden edition of Essikado Kuntum weight lifting competition.
The event saw nine contestants from three neighboring communities competing for the main accolade.
Event such as Bench, Squatting and Dead-lift was held to decide who wins the keenly contested competition.
The event was organized by the Essikado Kuntum Planning Committee, funded by the Omanhene of Essikado Traditional Area Nana Kobina Nkestia V with supports from Joy Industries Limited.
The overall winner Rashid Musa received an undisclosed cash prize and products from Joy Industries Limited whereas the other runner’s ups Showers and Ganiu had cash prizes and products from Joy Industries Limited.
Speaking to the participants, the Western Regional manager for Joy Industries Limited, Giovanni Osei Tutu Agyeman, showed his profound gratitude to the contestants for participating even though the notice was sent to them late.
