Joe Nana Adarkwah, the head coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, has expressed optimism on his team’s CAF Women’s Champions League campaign after a historic win 2-1 over AS FAR.
According to him, the team was yearning for a win in order to make a major impression on their debut.
Head coach Nana Joe Adarkwah acknowledged during a post-game interview that his team battled it out with a very tough opponent, but he also said that his pep talk at halftime worked like magic and inspired his girls to come back stronger.
“First of all, we knew our game against AS Far would be very difficult, so we were very determined and prepared. Unfortunately, we conceded in the first half.
“I spoke extensively to the ladies and reassured them that AS Far is just a female team like them, and they need not show them too much respect. They listened.”he said.
On Thursday, November 9, 2023, Ampem Darkoa Ladies will take on Malian champions AS Mandé in the second round of matches.
