Ghanaian Under-20 World Cup winner Ransford Osei, believes he was better in terms of goal scoring than Ghana’s all-time leading scorer, Asamoah Gyan.
He admitted that Gyan was a wonderful football player, but he was a good finisher than the former Sunderland and Black Stars player.
He claimed in an interview that Asamoah Gyan’s seeming superiority was only a result of his greater opportunity.
“Asamoah Gyan was a fantastic player but not more clinical than me, when it comes to goal scoring, I will have scored more than him but he had more chances,” he said.
With his amazing goal-scoring ability, Ransford Osei was the main man for Ghana at the youth level.
He was the top scorer of the U-17 African Youth Championship with seven goals. He was also awarded the silver shoe for finishing second with six goals in the U-17 FIFA World Cup top scorer’s chart.
He became well-known at the U-20 level, as he earned the 2009 U-20 AFCON top scorer award after tallying seven goals in five games. He was named the tournament’s best player.
