Black Queens Coach Nora Hauptle has described the Black Queens’ unwavering combination of enthusiasm, drive, and collaboration as the reason behind their success with respect to the WAFCON 2024 on their return to Ghana.
During an interview, the obviously delighted Swiss tactician poured praise on her team and reflected on their journey from South Africa, where they had clinched their berth with a thrilling 3-2 aggregate win over Namibia.
Hauptle highlighted the critical role played by their decisive 3-1 victory in the first leg, despite a 1-0 loss in the second leg. After qualifying, the Black Queens’ head coach, Nora Hauptle, said her team is eager to compete at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
“We have good values; determination, passion and team work that we share. We work a lot also on those skills not only on the football and am proud that is also fruitful in the end and also in the results.The performance today is closed because we qualified. Ghana is back in the WAFCON and we are hungry and willing to play there and I think a lot of the players deserve it,” she said after the game.
“We have some young players, for them it is the first time. Generally, we have a very young squad. I am proud of this year, we won 10 out of 11 games and I think we can have a nice Christmas.”she added.
Hauptle insisted that her team’s qualification was by merit in light of their efforts leaving her in tears after the game.
The Black Queens will look forward to book qualification for the Olympics and perform in the Women’s African Cup Of Nations 2024as well.
