The victory over Hearts of Oak, according to assistant coach David Ocloo of Asante Kotoko, positions his team to challenge for the Ghana Premier League championship.
The Phobians’ Linda Mtange opened the scoring before Martin Karikari reduced the deficit in the final minute.
The Ugandan international, Steven Mukwla, who has recently found his form again, secured a brace. Before this, Isaac Oppong had scored the equalizer for the Porcupine Warriors.
After defeating Hearts of Oak, Kotoko has now extended their winning run to four games. After the match, assistant coach David Ocloo said,
“We have been playing, and we are keeping the consistency. I would like to thank the fans for their support; we are grateful.”
“Gone are the days. “Football is dynamic and constantly evolving,” he continued.
“It’s all about consistency. As you can see, we have been playing the same game for a while, and the results speak for themselves. I think this will lift us up for the title.”
After 14 games this season, Kotoko currently holds the seventh position in the Ghana Premier League standings with 22 points.
