President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given Ghana Premier League winners Medeama GH¢1 million to boost their CAF Champions League campaign through the Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif
In front of a few Medeama SC management members, the President’s representative, Mustapha Ussif, Minister of Youth and Sports, gave the money to Tarkwa-Nsuaem Member of Parliament George Mireku Duker.
At the Jubilee House on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, Medeama presented the President with the Ghana Premier League trophy, and the President promised to back the club’s Africa campaign.
The Minister of Youth and Sports confirmed the payment of the money in a social media post.
“I had the privilege of presenting a GH¢1 million from H. E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the MP for Takwa Nsuem, Hon. George Mireku Duker on behalf of Medeama Sporting Club, as a fulfillment of his pledge to them for winning the 2022/23 league and also qualifying for the CAF Champions League,”the statement reads.
Medeama are looking forward to go past the group stage of the CAF Champions League. After three games, Medeama has four points, one less than Ah Aly, who lead their group.
