Felix Afena Gyan, a striker from Ghana, came off the bench to play 28 minutes for his club, U.S. Cremonese, during their heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Palermo in the Italian Serie B round of 19.
The forward was a key member of Otoo Adoo’s squad that bravely defeated Nigeria to earn Ghana a spot in the World Cup.
He announced his intention to stop playing for the Black Stars or Ghana National Team after he was demoted to play for the Ghana U-23 team.
However, the Cremonese striker explained that he has not quit the national team, rather he has put his international career on hold. The 20-year-old also stated that reports suggesting he has quit playing for Ghana are false.
