Ghana Black Stars midfielder Majeed Ashimeru climbed off the bench to play 1 minute and 6 minutes of injury time for his club RSC Anderlecht in their 2-0 home win over Cercle Brugge in the Belgium PRO League round 20.
When the midfielder was called upon to take Baba Iddrisu’s place at the center of the Blackstars midfield, he displayed quality.
Although Ashimeru is expected to be a great player for the national team, some Black Stars coaches did not think highly of him until he showcased it recently in the game against Madagascar.
Having been called up to the AFCON provisional squad, he will be a key member of the Ghana Blackstars.
RSC Anderlecht are 2nd on the league table with 42 points after 20 matches.
