Ghanaian waakye seller, Auntie Muni has been confirmed dead.
After a brief sickness, the tragedy happened today, Wednesday, January 3 at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra.
Arafat, Auntie Muni’s son, has announced that her funeral will happen in Tamale today in accordance with Islamic norms.
“Mummy was sick, she was complaining of pain, so we took her to the SNNIT Hospital. There were complications, so she asked that they discharge her.When they discharged her, after two days, we realized she was still not feeling well. So we rushed her to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for medical attention and this morning at 3 am she passed away,” Arafat told the media.
People from all walks of life appreciated Auntie Muni’s waakye, including the former president Mahama, who was known to savor it every Sunday. Auntie Muni was a much-loved personality.
