Black Stars forward Inaki Williams is set to report to Black Stars camp on Thursday as revealed by Athletic Bilbao.
The Athletic Bilbao striker was unable to attend to the team’s camp earlier this week due to an illness he contracted.
Williams would require rest following the evaluation, the club stated in a previous statement.
But now that he’s over his illness, the Ghanaian striker is anticipated to report to the team’s Kumasi camp on Thursday.
“Iñaki Williams has been assessed by Athletic Club’s medical services, who have confirmed the striker has recovered from the illness suffered during the last few days,” the club said in a statement.Iñaki will travel to Ghana on Thursday morning to join the Blackstars’ training camp ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.”a statement from Bilbao confirms.
On Tuesday, January 2, in Kumasi, however, the Black Stars set up camp. The team, which consisted of 24 players excluding Richard Ofori and Joran Ayew, had its first practice at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.
Before leaving for Ivory Coast in two days, the Black Stars will play a friendly match against Namibia at Baba Yara Stadium on January 8 as part of their preparations.
Ghana has been paired in Group B with Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique in the AFCON tournament which will begin from January 13 and end on February 11.
