Ghanaian defender Jonathan Mensah has signed a contract with the New England Revolution as a free agent for the 2024 MLS season, with an option to sign until 2025.
Mensah’s signing was confirmed by New England Revolution in an official announcement posted on their website.
“New England Revolution have signed veteran defender Jonathan Mensah as a free agent. Mensah, an MLS Cup winner and former MLS Best XI selection, joins the Revolution on a one-year contract for the 2024 Major League Soccer season with an additional one-year option for 2025,” the statement reads.
The Ghanaian international Mensah is back with his former Coach at Columbus Crew, Caleb Porter, thanks to the move Under Porter’s guidance, the 2020 MLS Best XI honoree emerged victorious in both the MLS Cup and the Campeones Cup.
Having played in 185 regular-season games, Mensah has seven seasons of MLS experience ahead of his move to New England. He played for San Jose Earthquakes for last year.
Mensah’s addition to the New England Revolution squad is a great deal as he will bring a lot of experience to the table.
