The Ghanaian woman who set a record for the longest cooking time—227 hours—Chef Failatu Abdul Razak revealed that she suffered from numbness and malaria.
In an interview with TV3, Falia opened up about her experiences; she mentioned that she had been sick before. However, she appreciated the support given to her during the period by Ghanaians.
Speaking about her dedication to shattering the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual set by Guinness World Records, Chef Faila said she did it voluntarily and without coercion from her teammates.
According to the Ghanaian chef, she would have been happy to pass away while working in the kitchen. Faila stressed that she was willing to die for the people who believed in her.
She also continued to cook because she wanted to change the narrative of her family and the North, where she is from, and make history.
