Chris Hughton, the Head Coach of the Black Stars, has acknowledged that the performance of Ghana’s national team under his leadership has been poor.
After Ghana in a disappointing turn of affairs crushed out of the group stages after a 2-2 draw with Mozambique, Chris Hughton stated that he accepts full responsibility for the team’s poor performance in previous months.
“I take responsibility for this performance and admit my results with the Black Stars have not been good enough.”Chris Hughton stated after Ghana’s match with Mozambique.
Ghana has now exited the 2023 edition of the African Cup Of Nations after letting go off a 2-0 lead over Mozambique in the last four minutes of their last group stage game amassing just two points.
Cape Verde and Egypt have advanced from Ghana’s group after accumulating 7 points and 5 points respectively.
On June 5, 2024, the Black Stars will return to action in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Bamako versus Mali.
