The Ghana Football Association has issued a statement of apology to Ghanaians following the dismal performance of the Black Stars at the ongoing African Cup Of Nations tournament.
The Black Stars failed to advance form the group stages in a group of Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique earning just two points out of a possible nine.
The GFA has therefore taken full responsibility and assured Ghanaians that steps will be taken to see the Black Stars get back to their best.
“The Ghana Football Association extends our sincerest apologies to the good people of Ghana and all stakeholders for the recent disappointing performance of the senior national team, the Black Stars at the Africa Cup of Nations Cote D’Ivoire 2023.We understand the disappointment and frustration that such results can bring to our passionate football-loving nation. Our team’s performance fell short of the high expectations we all share, and we take full responsibility for the disappointment.”

In the meantime, a committee has been set up to see to it that a new Coach is appointed to take over the reins of the Black Stars following the dismissal of Chris Hughton.
