The spokesperson for the CAF/ FIFA Liaison Team, Dan Kweku Yeboah has revealed that the appointment of Bashiru Hayford as the Black Queens of Ghana head coach was recommended by Mercy Tagoe.
According to him, Mercy Tagoe opted to work with Bashiru Hayford and the Liaison Team adhered to her recommendations.
“Coach Mercy Tagoe Quarcoe made the recommendation for the appointment of Bashiru Hayford as Queens coach and the Liaison Team adhered to her recommendations”, he said.
The Liaison Team on last Monday appointed the former Ebusua Dwarfs gaffer as the head coach for the Black Queens with Mercy Tagoe has deputy.
After the appointment of Bashiru Hayford as the head coach of the senior women’s national team Black Queens, many football advocates have expressed their displeasure, oping that Mercy Tagoe should rather be given the job after leading the team to win the maiden WAFU Cup of Nations.
