Western regional division two side Fijai United Soccer Academy in collaboration with American based PPEP Organization have launched a leadership and networking project in Fijai, Takoradi.
The project dubbed ‘PLAY’ is aimed at promoting grassroots sports for educational success and social inclusion was held today at the Fijai Training Pitch.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, President of Fijai United Soccer Academy, Jacob Wemegah revealed that the project is targeted at reducing school dropout by helping individuals with educational difficulties.
“PLAY basically means Peer Education, leadership, action and youth which is to promote grassroots sports and social inclusion.
He continued that “It has been observed that educational difficulties often go hand in hand with social hurdles, including low participation in fitness sports and this is where PLAY comes in.
“it targets mainly youngsters with low school outcomes whether due to a migrant background, language gap, socioeconomic disadvantages or something else.The main goal is to reduce school dropout.
