Ghana’s poor performance at the just concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations competition has caused them to fall six spots in the most recent FIFA World rankings for February.
The senior national team, who finished the previous year rated 61st, is currently placed 67th overall, a significant drop that is exacerbated by their fall in the rankings for the African continent.
In the Confederation of African Football (CAF) rankings, Ghana is currently ranked fourteenth; now surpassed by Cape Verde, South Africa, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Undoubtedly, Ghana’s early elimination from the competition has affected their standing, as the team earned only two points from their matches against Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.
